When we were in DC for the inauguration, we decided to take it as an opportunity to head to Georgetown and try one of the local restaurants. After walking up and down the blocks, we decided to go to Thunder, a quirky little burger joint. The restaraunt's decor was really unique, kind of rock n' roll grunge, kinda gaudy, kinda glitzy.

I decided to grab the sliders, a mini version of one of their signature burger. They were pretty bangin' if I do say so myself. The fries were my favorite part, though. Served in a little bucket!

And of course, we had to stop by Georgetown Cupcake.

Georgetown Cupcakes are the center of a hit reality show on the TLC network, and since this was my second time attending, we decided to get a half-dozen, to try a little bit of everything. Their little pink boxes are so cute!

We snagged a Cookies & Cream Cheesecake, Chocolate Ganache, Red Velvet, Toffee, Chocolate Birthday, and Mint Chocolate!

I definitely wasn't a fan of the Toffee one, but I'm sure its someone's favorite. Le'Andra said the Red Velvet was amazing, the Cookies & Cream Cheesecake was good, but super messy, and the others are still waiting to be munched upon!

Have you ever been to DC?
Do any of your local places have national fame?

Yum! Those look sooo good! I live sort of close to Voodoo Doughnuts, but haven't yet been. I have tried their bacon maple beer though, and it's quite delicious for beer!
Wau they look so good!
